Captain Marble will custom repair chips and cracks on most stone surfaces. Captain Marble can fill or bond the area with a colored polyester resin that dries in less than 1 hour. Once the area is dry, Captain Marble will polish or hone the surface in order to match existing surface. Most repairs go unnoticed and blend in beautifully with the background or veining.

A crack or chip repair should last the life of the surface, provided it is properly maintained. However a chip along a counter top edge can prove more difficult. It is not the shaping, blending or repairing, but the fact that the repair requires some depth in order to have sufficient area to grab and hold onto. An edge repair can be done therefore by drilling an anchor hole into the counter, however when working with a natural product such as marble or granite the risk of cracking the top is a real concern. This process is done routinely as fabricators salvage a damaged slab as an alternative to scrapping it, but is not done routinely in the field where the outcome could result in a catastrophic crack of a counter. That said, edge repairs are still done, but may pop out over time and require a second visit.
